I don%26#039;t understand what the law of conservation of mass means? can you put it in simple terms please? please try and put it in simple terms for me to try and understand it because my teacher doesn%26#039;t explain it that well.!!

  • Basically, stuff can%26#039;t come out of no where. Like, you can%26#039;t just have stuff popping out of nowhere. That means if you have like, I don%26#039;t know, an ice cube, and you wanted to destroy it, you can%26#039;t. But you can change its state of matter. Basically, matter can neither be created or destroyed, but can change states. Like kinetic energy can change to potential energy and vice versa. 14% 1 Vote
  • well I learned it as the law of conservation of mass and energy......mass and energy can neither be created nor destroyed......say......your not destroying a pound of coal when you burn it....
    so if you take a pound of coal and burn it.......the by products, ash. coals and heat(look up mechanical equivalent of heat) ....all the components will equal the mass of one pound of coal....

    which brings in the headache of unit conversion to add the componets up to make sure.... 14% 1 Vote
