Thanks for your input! which says that you should remove the windows before recycling these envelopes. And a friend who was very clued-up on green issues told me several years ago that the windows (and staples in documents) should be removed, prior to recycling, as they weren%26#039;t recyclable. But another friend told me recently that the paper gets processed at the plant and non-recyclable elements get removed.
