Is this true?? Can you turn in or recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans for money? If it is true where can I go to turn in a lot of bottles and cans?

oh yeah does it have to say refund 5 cents on it? to get money for it?

of course it is!! thats why it says right on the bottles %26quot;refund%26quot; which is usually 5 cents. you can bring them to any local recycling plant, or your local grocery store. Most have the machines right there, ...people walk around and collect cans and bottles that all the ignorants throw out on the road.
you need to just give %26#039;em a quick rinse first and then take.

oh and i know a kid, who at 10 yrs old started doing it, bought himself a car at 16 too with all the money he saved

• if you pay a deposit on any container you will get that money back if taken to a proper centre such as beer bottles and cans to the beer store in Ontario.Nova Scotia has special deposit centres to take materials to get your money.Pop cans ,beer cans (aluminium)will generally get you .50-.80 cents per pound if you don%26#039;t have a deposit to collect need to take to a metal recycling centre(look in your local phone book/yellow pages).If you have no deposit on plastic bottles don%26#039;t waste your time you will get SQUAT for it no one will give you a dime place them in the recycling box on the curb
• Yea, it%26#039;s true. Right now in my state they are paying 75 cents a pound for aluminum if it is cleaned and sorted. If not cleaned and sorted you get 65 cents per pound. Cleaned and sorted means that it is all aluminum and it is bagged. The policy and price may change from place to place. All metals and glass can be recycled, so I am sure you could get something for it, but how much is anyones guess. It all depends on the market. If you want to find a recycling center, just look in your local phone book in the yellow pages under R for recycling. It shouldn%26#039;t be that hard to find a place.
• it really depends on which state you live in. in maine the cans and bottles have to have the ME 5 cent stamp and they must have been purchased in state, or you can receive a heavy fine. we take ours to a redemption center. sometimes you can return them at the grocery store.
