Am doing my best, one tree at a time. Instead of people in the neighborhood hiring an Arborist to properly trim trees, they hire locals who chainsaw the branches off too high or just totally remove the tree, if a long branch touches their roof. I did manage to save 2, 30-40 year old trees 2 weeks ago. My neighbor was going to have them both removed until I told her how much they are cooling her home in the summer and providing a wind break in the winter. She had only 1 branch removed as I suggested and I was so happy. Before that, she had 9 trees removed and they weren%26#039;t in the way of anything. She didn%26#039;t want all the leaves blowing around.
We have to reach one person at a time, and it has to begin with homeowners.

Every little corner around where I live is getting bull-dozed down for housing development of some kind or another. They take down ALL the trees, even though they can work around some to make the area more attractive plus aid in conservation a LITTLE bit.
Beautiful pines, oaks, maples that have been growing for decades; it really saddens me. I guess I%26#039;m just a tree-hugger at heart. And yes, the wildlife habitat is shrinking and then people will complain that there%26#039;s too many deer or whatever. But their population only seems greater because they have to merge into our environment due to their%26#039;s being lost.

It seems that some people in the US do whatever they can to earn $, but those same people may cry out about how wrong it is if someone else, especially in another country does something similar.

everyone should be concerned about saving our trees. they not only provide homes and hiding places for our wild creatures but also provide shade and most important oxygen.

Absolutely! They do so much for the us and the environment, plus more that we probably don%26#039;t even know about yet.

yes! in fact, we should tear down houses, buildings, roadways and parking lots and plant trees in their place. the first ones to go should be public school building. they don%26#039;t seem to be performing their function anyway.

I believe. Unfortunately, there is little that we little people can do to keep developers and papermakers from plowing them down. I do what I can, such as recycling and using post-consumer recycled papers.
What hurts the most is seeing the upland forest habitat in my area of north Texas being plowed under by housing developers. Instead of building one home per acre or two like they did in the middle of the last century, they are putting two or four homes on an acre. The dozens upon dozens of trees that used to sit on that acre of land get replaced by only 2 or 4 saplings out in the front yards.

Yes we to stop cut them down as much as possible, If we cut them down for lumber be sure to replant in each trees place. But I can%26#039;t stand when people just cut trees down becuse they don%26#039;t want them in their yards anymore. We are stewards of the earth and must practice conservation to keep it alive. If we take something away replace it. Keep her clean and renewed. We are reaping the cost of trashing our planet, she gives us signs in her natural disasters.

If you want to save the trees buy some land and leave the trees alone and then stop telling everyone else want to do with their own land.
