for the people telling me not to do certain things.. heres a list of what i do throughout my regular day. the a/c at night is on 73. when i wake up and leave the house, it goes to 82 and stays that way for about 7-8 hours. i dont leave ANY lights on, in fact im constantly turning them off like i have a disease. i have to leave my ceiling fan on in my room bc i have three dogs. also keep in mind that i live in about a 700 sq foot place, not big at all.does anyone have any suggestions on like insulation?
or does anyone know of another way i can have electric without paying up the @$$?
each bulb uses 1/4 of normal bulbs so even thou you might think the price of the bulbs are high it will actually save you more in the long run. try not to keep the lights on as you move room to room.
to have your bill at 170 is a lot how often are you there? make sure you unplug things that you are not using like radio and stuff.
3 dogs and you have problems with your bills.. hmmm seem like your prioty are not in order. 40% 2 Votes

Cover your windows to reflect back all light, not just from the sun but from a bright sky or adjacent buildings. Uncover the windows to let radiant energy escape at night.
Use 13 watt curly bulbs and keep them turned off much as possible.
If you are going to cut energy usage most with an AC use, cool the apt to 70 about 4AM, then back to 80... This strategy uses cool of night to make the AC more efficient. And it uses the AC only to keep temperature bearable rather than luxury cool. You may find that you will dress lighter with 80F, and will need to remain well hydrated.
