Using water produced by dehumidifier and window air conditioner? So these two appliances produce a lot of water here at the house. Is it safe to use the water in my garden?

• I agree with The first answer. Considering in both units the water collected or in the AC produced is directly taken from the air in your house. The air hasn%26#039;t been contaminated with chemicals unless you recently had your house fumigated so the water is is just plain clean water. I wouldn%26#039;t trust it for drinking or animal watering but it should be just fine for plants. Though I do know some people to use the water for bird baths.
  I wouldn%26#039;t trust that though because in most cases a dehumidifier is used to take moisture out of an area that is likely to produce mold if left humid. So the water could contain mold spores. That would affect animals but again it would be just fine in your soil. 17% 1 Vote
• Yes, in fact it may even be cleaner than your city or well water. It is condensed from the air so it is just about the closest you can get to distilled without actually distilling the water. 0% 0 Votes
