I changed my light bulbs, unplug my printer, plug it back on when I am going to use it. As well as keeping other appliances unplugged that I don%26#039;t need. . Started using my two bags for shopping. Recycle my trash.

Breathing. I%26#039;m recycling the air by breathing in oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide so that the plants can use the CO2.

I use canvas bags for every trip to the grocery store. If buy something at Walgreen%26#039;s or Home Depot and I can just carry it to the car, I tell the cashier I don%26#039;t need a bag.
Save my used batteries and bring them to the hazardous materials disposal day when the local government has one each year.
Buy mostly organic food and rarely waste food, especially meat.
Built a compost bin in my backyard out of wood from an old bunk bed and chicken wire that someone was throwing out.
In the process of planting native plants in my yard.
Bought a Prius, and still take the train to work most days. Drive less aggressively, coast up to red lights.
And much more.

Before throwing anything away, I always ask myself if I can put it in the recycle bin, or if I can reuse it. In my home, there%26#039;s a rule that if a piece of paper still has a blank side, it must be used as scratch paper before being recycled. I line my trash bins with bags from the grocery store.
For the most part, I use canvas tote bags when grocery shopping. I keep a folded one in my purse at all times.
I usually walk or ride public transit to school and work. I drive a gas-efficient car, and very very sparingly. (Once a month or less.)
I%26#039;ve changed every light in my apartment to compact flourescents. There%26#039;s a line of lights in my hallway; I%26#039;ve taken out every other bulb. I turn the blinds so the sun shines in so I never have to turn on the lights during the day.
I buy in bulk, or items with considerably less packaging, or packaging made from recycled materials. I try to buy from local farmers as much as possible.
I exchange and buy clothes at thrift and consignment shops. My sister knits sweaters and scarfs for me for the winter. I also participate in community garage sales. Whatever%26#039;s left over is donated.
I unplug my televisions before going to sleep, and only plug them in when I watch.
I dry a good portion of my laundry on the line.
I%26#039;m a member of the Eco Club at school. We volunteer and inform others.
