What happened to Save our Trees? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2...

We are constantly urged by environmentalists to save the planet, and in particular, trees, which are a vital resource. Yet here the BSI in the UK is, trying to push through a measure which will have numerous consequences. People will be forced to chop down trees in the front gardens, as being no longer affordable. We shall lose local landmarks and places to shelter from the hot sun or pelting rain. People who have listed trees will presumably have no choice but to be penalised (and this could include places like churches, which are already struggling to make ends meet).

What is even more alarming is the fact that, the removal of trees could have a devastating effect on the structure of buildings.

And all for what?

I can see that this is only one issue of our general duty to the planet. But every journey starts with one step -- and this is a totally unnecessary step backwards!
