What is a good great ape conservation charity? I want to donate money to a charity that helps protect the other great apes. I think allowing them to go extinct, given that they share many human social and emotional characteristics, would be the most damning indictment of our society and I think future peoples would rightly view us with contempt. I%26#039;m interested in any suggestions...

But perhaps more so charities that empower local people through education and jobs in tourism and conservation etc.
