What is more eco-friendly? 8 minute shower or a standard size tub? Just asking for personal reasons. I prefer showering but I feel like I use more water during my 8 minute shower.

I%26#039;m not sure for your shower, but here%26#039;s a suggestion to find out if you have a shower that%26#039;s in a tub. Plug the tub and let the shower run for 8 minutes (watch it to make sure it doesn%26#039;t overflow). See how much it fills up; if it%26#039;s less than what you would use for a bath, then take your 8 minute showers. If it%26#039;s more, then if you want to use less water take baths. Then once you figure it out, you can use that water in a tub to take a bath then (so you don%26#039;t waste 8 minutes of water for nothing).

  • If, instead of running the shower for 8 minutes, you use 10 seconds to get wet, then soap and rub, then use 30 seconds to remove the soap and rinse it all down, you will have a good shower with the shower running for 40 seconds, far less than an 8 minute shower.

You can repeat that whole procedure and still be way below an 8 minute shower.
  • A 10-minute shower uses about 1/2 the amount of water that a bath does, so an 8-minute shower is even better.
  • It really depends on the water pressure. But for mine it would be better to take an 8 minute shower.
