I plant lot of trees. Our backyard is a small wild life sanctuary for various butterflies, t i t s, squirrels, and the occasional cobra, which come for the field rats.
I grow anthuriums, orchids, some bonsai, and a lot of bird of paradise family of plants. There are a few living fossils (Cycads).
(It is another matter that my wife says that at 68 I am one of them.)

I use a solar water heater(So do a million others) and try to conserve rain water.

I carry a jute bag to get my grocery. Our lighting is mostly CFL.

Incidentally, we live in the middle of a city of 10 million population.
