What one action could each of us take would make a significant difference in terms of conservation? With global warming gaining more and more scientific backing there is much discussion about how to minimize usage of fossil fuels etc and ways to dimish waste. But is there one thing that, if each of us did, would make a significant difference? As I did a random search with my question I found the website below. It offers an interesting idea, but will it work? If so, how can we encourage everyone to do it and if not, then is there anything that will?

Thanks for reading!

We have already changed to compact flourescent bulbs in all the places that will take them, but we live in a rented house, and the landlord isn%26#039;t willing to change out the fixtures in the ceilings, and the new bulbs just won%26#039;t fit in them at all. they aren%26#039;t the same size and shape as the old style bulbs.
I have also for years not used a dryer for my laundry, I use a wooden folding rack and let them air dry. I have a dryer, but i haven%26#039;t used it for over a year, and rarely do.
I also do not use a gas powered lawnmower, I push around the old fashioned kind that has revolving blades, no motor. Better exercise, and way better for the environment, plus it never breaks down.
And I recycle and re-use everything I possibly can, and buy previously owned items whenever possible. 38% 6 Votes

  • I think that if we can we need to be vegetarian, plant as many plants or crops as we can, and take the bus. Better yet just walk. And, it may seem weird but we need to ALL be considerate of other people and animals.

This may not be what they will do, but I think that someday, someone will pass a law that will make us give up our first born or something like that. 0% 0 Votes

  • Start a compost pile and a little garden that makes fruit so you can reduce your need to drive to grocery stores and reduce the need to purchase fruits/transportation of the fruits. Composting also reduces landfill waste and the weight that landfill trucks must transfer. Also it reduces landfill waste junk and the need to destroy climax ecosystems (with trees and stuff) to put landfills. 13% 2 Votes
  • That%26#039;s a great idea, it%26#039;d be easy for everyone to do and can help those with less money or electricity, for example people in developing nations or Iraq.
