Whats a proper way to dispose of used/unwanted CDs? i was organizing all of my CDs today and I have about 100 or so burned CDs that I dont want...do I just throw them in the trash?

But as the other poster said... check out http://www.greendisk.com to recycle them.

EDIT: Just found another website that accepts CD for recycling: http://www.recyclingcds.com/

Happy Recycling!

  • NO! there is a place where u can recycle them. this is the only site that i know of that can recycle the cds for a small fee.

    www.greendisk.com
  • Yea just throw them away, or see if someone else wants them.
  • Far as I know, they are not recycleable. You could donate them to a school to use for art projects.
  • I like to drive around and throw them out the window.
  • I would check with your local city/town/community recycling plant (assuming you have one). A CD is partially made of a kind of plastic so it%26#039;s good to reuse that material. There%26#039;s loads of info if you search %26quot;how to recycle CDs%26quot;.

Oh, and make sure that you get rid of any private data by throwing the relevant discs in the microwave. :) Google, Wikipedia, personal experience/knowledge
