Why are we not conserving are energy? You need to know that way to many people are cutting down trees. Dead tree=plant a tree!!THat is why i love earth day!!:)

I do not know about you, but I AM doing my best to conserve. I installed triple pane windows, added insulation all over the exterior walls and under the roof of my house. I%26#039;ve replaced my standard incandescent light bulbs with low energy florescents (sp?) lamps, except for the yellow bug lights I have on the front and back of the house in the porch lights. I insulated my water heater to keep more heat in. i insulated the ductwork in the garage for my furnace. I vent my electric dryer inside in colder months and use a plain ordinary clothesline in the backyard when warm enough and it isn%26#039;t raining. I dumped the big car I used to have and now drive a 3 cylinder Geo Metro that gets 55 MPG most of the time, which is as good or better than most all other 4 wheeled vehicles that are powered by a fuel, hybrids included, all-electrics (as if we had any!) excluded. I recycle steel and aluminum cans, newspapers, magazines and cardboard. I think I%26#039;m doing quite a bit to conserve. What more can I do that I am not already doing?

• Because it%26#039;s big money for the people that make these decisions.
• we are too used to the current overusing. We have to gradually change and that will take a while. And there are those people who just don%26#039;t care and we don%26#039;t know why they are on this earth since they need to live on here too. They would be better off dead. There are many little things we could do that would make a big difference, but until people start dying from the effects of global warming and not conservung energy then they won%26#039;t pay it much attention. Plus nobody has the money to waste on today%26#039;s environment. Bunch of stuck up bums who just want to make money while they are alive. Damn them.
• Actually logging companies (US at least) are required to plant new trees to replace ones cut down.
• If we continue this then we will die out like every thing else will one day. and it might be sooner than we think if we dont take action soon. Be a better person, dont hate, and take care of our planet. It wont last forever.

• conserving energy: a good and a tough task. very essential thing 2 maintain balance in ecosystem.many people don%26#039;t think about this bcoz they think only of themselves.
• Okay I get that if you cut a tree you should plant a tree - but consider how long it takes that tree to grow to replace the one you cut

• Energy conservation should be literally built into the process, and in some areas that is already the case. New home construction can use insulated glass and walls and even landscape to keep homes cool in summer, warmer in winter. The rest of us can be replacing old appliances with energy saving models, swapping out light bulbs and getting acquainted with the long list of activities that allow us to save both money and energy.
