Conservation is more than just saving the whales. It is using less gasoline to make the limited supply last longer and also save money.I used to get annoyed at the environmental extremists and thought it was so pointless until I read about the former Soviet Union where under the communist government there was no environmental protection at all. The result is the people in those areas have a MUCH shorter life expectancy that we do in the U.S. Like 20 years less. I am willing to spend a little to save the whales as an unavoidable side effect of keeping our environment safe and clean enough for me to not die 20 years too soon from pollution caused diseases like cancer. 100% 4 Votes

The Nature need the animal to spread their seeds, for exemple. And the agriculture, whom feed all over the world need the insects and other animal to control the plagues.

I agree that humans are the dominant species. We are also the smartest, well, some of us are anyway. True conservation isn%26#039;t about love and respect for animals. It is making sure that resources are sustained for human consumption. Wood, for example, is an extremely important renewable resource. It is only renewable, however, if we replace it at a rate at least equal to the rate that we consume it. Therefore, forests are protected and managed for sustainable use. The same goes for animals. I am a hunter, so I kill many species of animal for food. However, hunting harvests must be managed so that the animals can reproduce and replace the portion of the population that was hunted. If hunting is not managed, animals become extinct and then there are none left for us to eat. I agree that humans are more important than any plant or animal, but we need to make sure that plant and animal resources are sustained for our continued use. As far as extinctions go, many plants, animals, even humans are subject to the possibility of extinction. If that happens, it happens. It is part of the normal course of life. I prefer to avoid causing such an extinction through acts of carelessness. The notion that we could somehow utterly destroy the planet is positively ridiculous and nothing short of supreme arrogance on the part of enviro-extremists. This planet will survive any trauma that man or any other species could inflict upon it.

However, ur ego is so strong. We r sharing the same earth. Humans need food and places to survive and live. SO DO ANIMALS. Who said that we r intelligent and smarter than animal ? ^____^

I just think that if we keep taking animals places on earth. So the human could be still the the dominant species or either exist on earth. ^___________^
