A wierd thought about global warming?? is it even a possibility to try and invent a machine that captures the CO2 in your exhaust and convert it into a block of solid carbon? And then you could use the carbon for stuff!

i have no idea if this is even possible, but wouldnt that be a good solution?

i already knew about the whole tree and plant thing, but its not like they are taking ALL of the CO2 out of the air

That%26#039;s a pretty good idea. You should do a little experimenting to see if you can figure out the logistics of it. If you can make something that will do that on a small scale, I%26#039;m sure some company will buy the idea from you.

yes, thank you. unfortunatley i would have no idea how to build something like that, so guess what!? I officially give you permission to steal my idea if you really want to haha. thanks for the answer

  • Stick a potato in your exhaust... It%26#039;s an old secret... It works trust me.
  • i think it would be a great idea. not just with carbon but try inventing it to break the atoms into carbon and oxygen. i%26#039;m not sure how you would break it down but i know that most plastic are made out of carbon.
  • Great! but its too hard to build...plus it may cost alot....
  • Sure--and someone already did--God.

Its called a tree-and the %26quot;block of solid carbon%26quot; is wood.

I%26#039;m not making fun of you--the point I%26#039;m making is that you are exactly right--we can get the CO2 out of the air--or a lot of it, anyway. Just plant trees. And wood is VERY useful! But there%26#039;s no sense spending money on research and development when wha twe want is already available!

But--a caution: this will not work if we don%26#039;t quit adding CO2 to the atmosphere. That means the fossil fuels have GOT to go. The good news is tha twe an do it. ut that%26#039;s where theresearch money and effort need to go.
  • Sure, plant a tree in your exhaust. Trees and all green plants convert CO2 into carbon. It is called the cycle of life.
