Earth doesnt always take thousands of years to heal. PCBs were dumped into the Hudson River and they are now burried under several feet of silt and will continue to be.....that is until the dredging project begins to remove them and stirs them up. Wonderful plan greenies!1 month ago

As far as species becoming extinct, they will continue to do so with or without man. 90% of the Earths inhabitants have come and gone and perhaps man will do the same. Those that did not adapted to their new environments. It is called Survival Of The Fittest.1 month ago

The sun does more to change climate than we can do in just one day. The question is how long will it take for the Earth to %26quot;right all wrongs and heal itself,%26quot; and will humans still be around then. Perhaps you%26#039;re content for Earth to be screwed up for thousands of years while the Earth repairs itself, but maybe the rest of humanity isn%26#039;t.

Arrogance, ignorance, neglect, avarice, sloth and hubris have, indeed, set in to alter the world%26#039;s consciousness.
I%26#039;d suggest an experiment: take a large plastic bag and punch holes in it. The wrap it around your head and see how relatively easy it is to breathe. Now, take that same plastic bag (with the holes punched in it) and fill the bag with cigarette smoke, greasy fumes from your stove, and a some exhaust fumes from the tailpipe of your car. Now put the same paper bag over your head and see if it%26#039;s still easy to breathe.
Global warming is a cyclical event that occurs over tens of thousands of years. Mankind, however, in these past 150 years, has introduced an %26#039;industrial revolution%26#039; that has accelerated the natural cycle of things and disrupted the balance of nature, making it difficult for many plant and animals species to adapt to the coming man-made climatic changes.
We selfishly insist that we%26#039;ve not contributed to this crisis by polluting our air, poisoning our water, decimating rain forests, over-fishing our oceans, tearing apart our mountains, spilling oil into our gulfs, and disturbing the natural order of our planet!
Whether you%26#039;re Muslim, Mormon, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, agnostic or atheist, you must certainly recognize that virtually every species on Earth is here for a purpose.
Whether you believe in a %26#039;big-bang%26#039; evolutionary theory, an intelligent designer, a %26quot;God%26quot;, Mother Nature, or fate - you must accept the premise that all things on this planet are inter-dependent on all other things on this planet!
Consider the horse shoe crab*; mangrove forests; oceans; Venus fly traps; wetlands; meadows; poisonous Amazonian frogs; caribou; %26#039;uncivilized%26#039; tribesmen in the dense Brazilian jungles; elephants; rain forests; tsetse flies; remote Eskimo tribes; dolphins; kittens; coral reef; polar bears; glaciers; krill; daffodils; skunks; Asian tigers; baboons; redwood trees and every other species on this good Earth. If they are not here, WE WILL DIE!!
Without all of Earth%26#039;s beauty and bounty, and all its natural resources, our gas-guzzling SUVs, Hummers, sailboats, plastic junk we buy at WalMart, food, houses, highways, water or amusement parks would not be able to exist.
