Are you complaining about gas prices? Ok, this isn%26#039;t really me asking you for your advice on a problem I have, but this posting definitely proves a point that will help you see things in a different light.
If you think gas prices are too high; odds are that you%26#039;re just upset you can%26#039;t travel without getting a pain in your pocketbook.
Did you, for one second think about this planet? The rising cost of fuel is preventing people from using their car, and therefore actually is good for Earth.
So, by taking the bus, riding your bike or carpooling, you save money and the next generation. You are BOTH naive, %26amp; ignorant. • The impact of the rising cost of fuel is definitely much more than just taking the bus or riding your bike.

Living standards of all humanity do fall because of the rising cost of fuel.

What does that really mean in 3rd world countries?
Increasing poverty (hunger), diseases, deaths. Not only in Africa, but in Asia and Latin America as well.

I just mentioned one more serious effect besides more people taking the bus, but rising cost of fuel affects all aspects of human life (and not really in a positive way) WEVE HIT OVER 370 ANSWERS PUT UR ANSWER IN AND U MIGHT MAKE ANSWERS HISTORY!!!!
  • I ride my bicycle everywhere I want to go.

good thing I never want to go far!
  • I have to admit that yes i do complain about gas prices.

in December, I retired from being a gas station manager, and I have heard all of the complaint from customers as the price of gas went from 36 cent a gallon, the the plus $4.00 it is today.
knowing that they just did not seem to realize that it was not the fault of those working at the gas station, or ever the owners of those gas stations.

in all of those years I have yet to see people driving less, and yes it is true that some have gone to more fuel efficient transportation, but I have also see a large increase in bigger, larger less fuel efficient Trucks, and SUV%26#039;s.

I live in a tourist town, and the traffic is still bumper to bumper.
sorry, but there is no car pooling , bike riding, or bus transportation here.
and people still get in their cars to drive from one parking lot to the one next door to keep from walking.

The biggest difference that I can see, is that low income people are having to choose between putting gas in their cars, or food on the table. jcms
  • No I%26#039;m not complaining.
Look at gas prices in Europe - they have always been significantly higher, and part of that cost is intended to discourage people from driving. However...
as much as I am offended by DaveMs characterization of leftists (I%26#039;m a long way left of liberal), I have to agree with the spirit of what he says...
In Europe they have the infrastructure to allow people to opt out of driving and, in fact, make that an attractive option.
Here that isn%26#039;t so easy. Outside of large cities, the infrastructure doesnt allow for abandoning cars.
In addition, the need for curbing car use in Europe is not entirely envirnmental - their population density is much higher than in the US, which actually facilitates the implementation of infrastructure.
Preaching to people who often don%26#039;t have a choice (beyond buying a more fuel efficient vehicle) is not helpful.Don;t get me wrong - I think we should all be environmentally responsible - but how we go about making that practical for everyone is a tricky issue.
Prices are gonna keep rising and the US is gonna have to deal with it - let%26#039;s hope the government/power that be/general populace can work with this instead of staying in denial...
  • %26quot;The rising cost of fuel is preventing people from using their car, and therefore actually is good for Earth.%26quot;
This is leftist propoganda - it%26#039;s exactly what they want us to think and while it sounds nice it isn%26#039;t true. Using vehicles is not bad a bad thing. And while it never helps to complain to oil companies about their prices, most people are very upset about the sudden rise at the pumps. Do you really think that the miniscule amount of carbon in the atmosphere from cars is all that bad? Come on...it isn%26#039;t!!
While you may be a homebody who never travels, lots of people do for lots of reasons. To sneer at them with this kind of contempt is a reaction only a lefty could have.
Don%26#039;t you realize the economic impact this is going to have on us? No, leftists have no understanding of basic economics or business, as long as they can keep raising taxes. But before long companies are going to start shutting their doors for good, laying off people because they can%26#039;t afford to stay in business. Food prices are going to skyrocket. Transportation will be cut back severely. Starvation on a large scale around the world, particularly in underdeveloped countries. Will you still be sneering then or might you decide to change your mind?
Who cares about saving the next generation when the leftists are trying to kill off this one?
  • let me start off by saying Hydrogen is a great option for the concept of free energy. I built my first hydrogen cell about 5 years ago. Have converted over 50 vehicles in the last 10 years (gydrogen and EV) and now currently run 2 trucks (and another EV), my home hot water heater, home stove and home generator on hydrogen for free with caught rain water and the help of a $10 solar panel. I offer a step by step DIY guide to walk anyone interested threw the process. You can find it at www agua-luna com or you can email me.
