Theatregurl520, I remember the predicted ice age. It sounded pretty convincing at the time.Sappy and Pappy, I couldn’t agree more.
Rick, nice links. I have been read some lately on the underwater volcanoes and vents. This could be another factor to consider.

Thanks for the comments everyone,7 months ago
Tomcat, nice link on the tropics. On GCR projections, I liked the way this paper laid out the solar cycles from before the Dalton minimum to the present and into the future. I suppose it makes sense that the cooling would show up first in the oceans at the tropics since the oceans dissipate heat by evaporation, which leads to an increase in the most important GHG, water vapor. As the rate of evaporation slows the atmosphere should follow..
. There has been no recent global cooling. The answerer has cherry picked his information. MSU temperature data does not contain any surface temperature reading from the poles. This is where much of where the actual temperature anomaly have taken place. Report Abuse

Sure, I would be, but this isn%26#039;t one.
This is just rehashing the same old data. It doesn%26#039;t explain why global warming has accelerated over the past 30 years as solar output has decreased, and it doesn%26#039;t explain the many flaws in the GCR theory, such as no long-term trend in GCR flux.
If you can find a way to explain these critical issues, then maybe you can form a theory relating the Sun to the recent warming. Until then, you%26#039;re just ignoring the data.

PAPPY - The Sun warms the Earth. But it%26#039;s not responsible for the recent INCREASE in temperatures. That%26#039;s mostly due to CO2.
We don%26#039;t have %26quot;swing%26quot; in our oil production capacity - it%26#039;s peaking (now through about 2015-2020)

It%26#039;s a grim bag of issues the next few generations have been handed by the stewards of the 20th century, and while the academic debate about global warming will hopefully continue for decades or centuries to come, the time to act is upon us and we must do so in the presence of partial information.
So while I%26#039;m quite sure that Exxon or their progenitors would be delighted to host the Winter 2320 debates at the University of Colorado solar global warming conference at the scenic Denver Beach Hilton, unfortunately circumstances have moved well and past them.

What people can%26#039;t seem to fathom - our earth has a virtually paper thin lithosphere floating on magma in the mantel.
http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/vwlessons/...
Your web page points out the magnetic influences of the Sun - which effects magma flows for months at a time. That is why earthquakes %26amp; volcanoes will remain active for months after the Sun goes blank = without sunspots.

A four degree increase in ocean temperature is FAR FAR more important than ANY increase in Air Temperature!!! -
Thank you Dana, joniam and especially Mark for a most cogent answer.
I have nothing to add except to say -
who are you and why do you keep posting the same debunked pseudoscientific gobbledygook?
Are you really just some earnest but uninformed average guy? Hmmm. -
Why not? I%26#039;m always interested in an alternative theory. Certainly, the current theory of man-made global warming is absolutely false.
Pappy, below, is absolutely correct.
