  • First of all, make sure there is something to sell in these mattresses. Not everybody wants old mattresses, because who knows what somebody did on them.

I would definitely try to sell the ones that are still in good condition. Maybe start out selling them on Craigslist or some other such site.

If there are a few that are a little too beaten to sell but are still OK to sleep on, you could donate them to charity. If you give away enough and keep the receipts, that could be a nice tax write-off.

If they are way too bad to sleep on at all, remove the springs and sell them for scrap steel. You could make some decent money off of that and reduce the amount that goes to the landfill.
  • it probably depends on the condition,
The only question is what you would do with the fabric, that can get gross, not sure how you would recycle that. But everything can be reused.
you might be able to clean them,
take them apart reuse the parts..
Replace the fabric if everything else is good and,
    Resell it. Just an idea.
  • best advice is to ring other recyclers and ask them. also phone your city council. good luck
  • %26#039;Hot steam%26#039; jet (Karcher etc..) and air in the open on a nice day.
  • Have you heard of %26quot;Simply Green%26quot;? It%26#039;s new and may not be in your area.

    Sorry I couldn%26#039;t help that much. :(
