Climate Change? The question is:

Describe the responses of different nations to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Are these responses helping the debate or hindering it into the effects of the enhanced greenhouse effect?

Enhanced greenhouse effect? What in the world are you people trying to manipulate people into thinking now? Funny, all the plants are supposed to disappear because of a %26#039;greenhouse%26#039; effect right? Well, how come when people want to grow plants, they build a freakin greenhouse? Dumb as it may seem, you alarmists simply don%26#039;t make any sense! Do farmers plant and grow crops in the winter? So, if the winter did shorten, we would have more plants and food. However, the winter is colder, quite to the contrary of what you alarmists are trying to sell.

All you are doing is helping to make the oil companies richer. That waste ethanol thing... Just one example and they have all the excuses because the alarmists gave it to them. No refineries since the seventies thanks to the nutcases. There has NEVER been an oil shortage! Just alarmists choking the working people of this country! 100% 1 Vote

  • Cindy W - More CO2 ≠ More Food. Things are actually a little more complicated than what you assert. Higher CO2 levels have been shown to cause lower nutrient value in grown plants. Then there%26#039;s that pesky drought thing that%26#039;s already wreaking havoc around the world and projected to only get worse as the warming continues.

Some countries are doing a lot in response to global warming. Sweden, for example, imposed a carbon tax in 1991, and they expect to be 4% below their 1990 emission level by 2010 (far better than the Kyoto plan). And Sweden has done this without harming their economy (it%26#039;s actually far better, inflation %26amp; GDP growth-wise, than the US economy right now). Examples like this, should clearly help the debate over global warming, as it eliminates the fear-mongering of people who say it would damage the economy if we do anything to reduce emissions. 0% 0 Votes
