The disaster can not be prevented, but increased warnings for people to leave the area where computers and other technologies expect the natural disaster to hit could let people leave sooner. I do not side with AL Gore that these natural disasters are cause by climate change. I believe climate is a cycle. I believe air pollution is a big problem and that why people should use more efficient technologies rather than this scare global warming a new term just to scare us.
Sure! To prevent flooding, we%26#039;ve built dams. We could prevent earthquakes if we were to use enough geothermal energy for the tectonic plates to lock together. There are always tradeoffs though. If we tried to change the global climate, millions of people could die of starvation.

Storms occur naturally, of course.
But heat is the fuel of storms. Adding more heat will cause more and stronger storms.
Attributing any one storm to global warming is dubious. Saying global warming will cause more problems with storms is scientific fact.
Yes! I mean if each and every one of us simply used a snowblower to broadcast 17lbs. of nano precipitated calcium carbonate into the atmosphere every other day and dump at least three trays worth of lightly salted ice cubes into the nearest major body of water twice a week, this war would be OVER! But are they doing it? NO! They are too busy with American Idol, Dr. Phil, scantily clad dadooed Teeny-Bopper house, CSI, Wiis, iPods, and earwax. It makes me ill.
No, what we can do is warn those in the region and hope they have the ability to prepare or leave the area. Unfortunately some nations are not structured to do so. The death of 100,000 is truly a tradgedy.
