Classic re-direction of the argument. You, have the ability to control how much you drive and eat. Take responsibility for your actions like any responsible adult should. Oh, maybe that%26#039;s the problem.

Yes cars are an easy way for the Government to raise more capital! easy pickings!

All breathing things reject CO2, but it is natural, cars pollute, that%26#039;s the difference. And global warming is a natural thing by the way

If you own a costly vehicle you will pay whatever is demanded of you. %26#039;Public%26#039; transport is uncertain and dirty both inside and from exhaust emissions so there is no gain in using it. I see %26#039;City Hopper%26#039; running around with one, two or possibly three people in them. They produce more CO2 than a car/passenger mile as they are truly %26#039;gas guzzlers%26#039; and ill maintained.
Cars pay some SEVEN times as much in tax as is spent on services to them.
Let%26#039;s have fewer miles flown by MPs and them use public transport to set the example.
Also and lastly (!) crowding, islands and traffic jams increase the typical fuel consumption of a car some 35%. No Roads, More Petrol, More Tax. Nice one Brown my Darling et al.

Not to use the road tax to discourage larger vehicles and unnecessary road use would be disastrous, both environmentally and economically. Only the uninformed and selfish think otherwise.

No, because if we taxed the cows they%26#039;d retaliate by claiming Jobseekers Allowance or something...
Besides, cars contribute to more problems than just global warming. The roads are pretty much full, for one... we need money to fund new roads, or preferably, better public transport so that people don%26#039;t have to use their cars. -
No, if anything it should go up even more and vehicles should be graded into more different bands with escalating tax for CO2 performance, fuel performance and fuel type, also wear and tear on infrastructure, also I think there should be a penalty tax on cars used with only one person present, especially for those commuting short distances.

i should get a reduction just for me cos i dont need the cows i dont eat the beef
