Do you know where I can find this? There was an article/graph I came across a few months ago, showing how much we need to reduce CO2 output to return to Kyoto levels (I think), and how much reduction there would be if we all switched to CFLs, if we replaced all the cars in the U.S. with Prius hybrids, if we replaced major power plants in the U.S. and China with nuclear power. I think the main idea was that there is already so much CO2 that even a drastic change in policy will not be enough.

If you remember where I can find this graph, please let me know. Thanks.

The details must be too long because you are not reading it.

I%26#039;ll summarize: there%26#039;s a graph on the internet. It shows CO2 reductions if we make some drastic changes, and that it%26#039;s not nearly enough.

Find that graph. Thank you.

  • The major flaw with Kyoto is that it is trying to do so little that nobody reasonably believes it is able to change the direction of global warming.

Earth needs to bring our emissions to 30% of current levels within a decade. But that can not b e sold, politically, no matter hoe much it is needed.

Kyoto targets are an attempt to get everyone working in the same direction while we get our heads around the enormity of the problem.

The only way we can get our emissions down far and fast enough is to cap and rfeduce both imports and extraction of all fossil fuels. We need to start with a reduction of 1% per month in terms of carbon content, whether that means a bit of coal or a lot of natural gas reduction. 23% 8 Votes
