while they cant be 100% proven, there have been several droughts of prolonged periods which have a massive economic impact, which may have been due to global warming.

also floods in some areas can become more prominent. this also causes economic loss.

climate shift can also cause crops to fail.

(if these current events are due to global warming or not, its a bit early to tell.)
