Ignored facts about global warming!!!
A small to medium sized automobile that gets about 25 MPG and the engine is developing approximately 20 BHP wile consuming 2.5 GPH at freeway speed. The amount of thermal energy being used is 20 X 2546 BTU/HP = 50,920 BTU wile consuming 2.5 GPH at 120,000 BTU per gallon for a total of 300,000 BTU. Admittedly these are approximations. Some figures are that the Otto cycle efficiency is as high as 38% when operating at max torque. But most agree that 20 to 25% is normal operation.
To restate, 50,000 BTU is being used while 300,000 is being created. The 250,000 BTU of heat energy remaining is being dumped into the environment. -

Rather than going by what someone will answer with bias here, why not Google it yourself to make up your own mind.
It should scare you, because the facts (you%26#039;ll see once you research for yourself) show that this problem is real and needed to be acted upon yesterday!
Go by the information given by large and valid sources of science, not a one-man publication.
There are many steps to take to slow down this process. These can also be found by googling something like: %26#039;going green%26#039;.
There will always be those who deny global warming. They will throw out information as if they know what they%26#039;re talking about, that%26#039;s why I urge you to research the subject on-line yourself and draw your own conclusions. -

You and all the rest of us will be here
.. . ...
To see it happen
.. . ..
And it will take a couple more generation of family to see the real end results of Global Warming
.. . ..
And it always happens when the end is with in eyesight the whole world will be on the so called Band Wagon to get things straighted out
.. . ..
And by then our knowledge and inventions will of given us the ability to do the transition to a new power source easily
-- with out all kinds of
kicking and crying of leave the covers alone
wanting to sleep for a few more years

First, we need to control emissions. We need to reduce our fossil fuel consumption. Global warming is not the reason to do so. I will base my argument from IPCC figures.
1. The temperature change has been .6 +/- .2 deg C over the laste centurey.
2. CO2 has gone from ~285 ppm to ~385 ppm
3. This has an effect of 6.3 * LN (CO2now/285). The important thing to note this is not linear and we seen 45% or so the effect of CO2 reaching 570 ppm. The first 100 increase will have almost the same effect as the next 200.
4. Prior to 1940 we saw an increase in temperature of about .25 deg C. The carbon increase of 5-10 ppm was to small to account for this. We can say almost certain that .2 deg C was natural.
5. The CO2 effect to this point would have been about .4-.5 deg C.
6. Other greenhouse gasses will also have a .05-.15 deg C effect.
Add this up, we get .2 natural + .45 from CO2 + .1 from other gasses= .75 deg C change should have happened. Some say sulfates cooled the earth, the effect in 1995-2000 would have been small probable less than .1 deg C. Total change of .65 deg C
Why is this important? If the temperature change is actually .65 deg C or less we have a net negative feedback to warming. If the .65 or greater we have a positive feedback. Remember the change has been .6 +/- .2 deg C.
Without positive feedback the temperature change will be about 1 deg C from doubling. In other words about 1 deg F hotter than today. -
