Global scaring? Is that what it has come down to? Has global warming made us so scared we are prepared to pay billions extra to fund any science at all to help get us out of it? Why is global warming very much like global scaring?

Have you considered that the real scare-mongering going on is coming from those that claim addressing global warming will ruin our economy and take away our rights? That sounds a lot more like scare-mongering to me, than the scientific literature I read which consistently acknowledges global warming is real. 43% 3 Votes

• Some people used Y2K to sell a lot of stuff. It was great for the computer and software business!!
  
  The media was complicit in this. If you watched the news prior to the turn of the century it was filled with stories that were sensationalized. Some said it would return us to a stone-age existence since almost everything relied on computers. I thought it was funny at the time and when someone approached me about stockpiling food, cash, etc. I told them to get a life.
  
  Now the media loves sensationalism it sells papers and makes for bigger TV audiences.
  
  Just like Y2K, a lot of people stand to benefit from the global warming scare. The media is doing the same thing with AGW that it did with Y2K.

  As a college educated person in science and business, I do not fear the cost. Climate action will only reduce by 5% a worldwide GDP which is going to increase by 200 to 300%...
