- Increase in dark surfaces (which absorb heat).
We can%26#039;t alter the orbit or sun activity, but we can alter greenhouse gas levels and urban development.
You can%26#039;t %26quot;halt%26quot; global warming (or cooling), as the earth has been warming and cooling for millions of years. All you can do is attempt to limit the effects of it so as to not make the planet too uninhabitable, and to also prepare the human body for changes in climate, and subsequent changes to resource supplies, and human welfare.
