Make him the Secretary of Energy of the next (Obama) administration, and give him all the backing he needs! IMOAmerica has too many problems to be falling behind as we have been.

Yes. He%26#039;s the one who came up with this tidbit:
“If you ask me, it’d be a little short of disastrous for us to discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy because of what we would do with it…”
– Amory Lovins, Rocky Mountain Institute.
That shows you the mindset of the environmentalists - they don%26#039;t want us to figure out a way to live our lifestyles in a way that emits less carbon - they want us to have to change our lifestyles.
EDIT - So Ken, you%26#039;re suggesting that he meant weaponization, rather than %26quot;over-consumption%26quot; and %26quot;over-population,%26quot; both of which are myths?

No... not until now.
Should I?
And why is this in GW? The opinion of ONE individual, whether right or wrong, whether an expert or a crank, whether agreeing with my views or not, are irrelevant to the subject and only end up with a bunch of people arguing and getting personal... let%26#039;s stick to published scientific papers and verifiable facts, not individual opinions on Fox, YouTube, Al-Jazeera, BBC or whatever.
Edit:
Bob, my point was that we often let the discussions bog down into micro-issues and individuals instead of the big picture.
Mr. Lovins may be important in some circles and/or some regions but by focusing on an individual, the debate starts revolving around HIS opinon on nuclear energy, HIS credentials, HIS appearance on X TV show...
For example, have you heard of Klaus Jergens? - probably not as he is unpublished. BUT he has been doing excellent field work throughout South Asia and Africa in sustainable and environmentally friendly water and sanitation programmes, agriculture and fuel use.
As a person, he is as valid as Mr. Lovins as is his work.
Now, if the question had been about one of Mr. Lovins opinions (as a credible source) or a new idea or campaign, well, that would have been different.
I%26#039;m trying to stay issue, objective and activity based rather than personality-based! 33% 2 Votes -
Sure.
%26quot;No... not until now. Should I?%26quot;
Absolutely. He%26#039;s been advancing the concept of local renewable energy sources for over 20 years. I don%26#039;t agree with hima about nuclear power, but he%26#039;s a VERY smart and farseeing guy. 0% 0 Votes
