Dr Jello: You%26#039;re right--I already see how it would makes things much worse!carbon offsets = big polluters can pay smaller polluters who need the money to decrease their productivity/output. This would eventually lead to less competition and more wealth and expansion for the companies that remain (which means more %26quot;carbon output%26quot;)
more recycling = more poisonous fumes in the air and more %26quot;carbon output%26quot;
cutting down domestic production while letting China continue to progress and pollute = more dependence on countries like China (that don%26#039;t have any health and regulatory standards) and means more %26quot;carbon output%26quot;
more deforestation to grow ethanol crops = more %26quot;carbon output%26quot;

benticman: I agree--they want to deny other people the chance to advance their own countries and economies--while they enjoy the benefits of theirs. They also do that when they tell people they can%26#039;t build their homes in certain areas while they already have their homes in the country, mountains, suburbs, etc. They are very selfish.

No.Yes,
and yes.
The war on carbon is a cover for a war against western society and it%26#039;s higher standard of living than much of the world can enjoy. It%26#039;s an effort to reduce mankind to socialism, limit our energy use, dismantle our manufacturing system and severely limit our freedom.
The communist bloc countries and East Germany recently emerged from a system like this, and the last thing anyone wants is for it to happen here.
It has nothing to do with science or carbon, and everything to do with corrupt political idealism.

The %26quot;War on Carbon%26quot; will be exactly like the %26quot;War on Poverty%26quot; and the %26quot;War on Drugs%26quot;.
The problem will never go away, the problem will only get worse, and politicians will always ask for more money to solve the problem.
This problem can only be resolved by free markets. -
I%26#039;m on carbons side and i%26#039;m defending it because carbon dioxide is how living things grow!
Plus it is only 0.054% of all the gasses in the atmosphere also it is a minor green house gass so it aint going to do much. None of this ohh 0.00001 of some toxin could kill you because that toxin would be extremely potent and co2 is a minor green house gass. When skeptics join together we could acomplish anything!(unfortunatly we aren%26#039;t joined together) -
I%26#039;m starting a movement to exterminate as many sources that expel CO2 as possible. I think if we start with the mammals it will be a good start, they exhale massive amounts of CO2 when you and up the billion and billions of creatures, breathing, 24/7, We must stop the Madness-Kill them all

This may end up costing more than the war on poverty and the war on terrorism combined. The only difference is it will have no effect, or, the opposite of the intended effect. I wonder how many will die from starvation or exposure to the elements because of the lie?

I have a (non-clean) coal power plant just down the road from me. I fight carbon by sitting on a bench in the park nearby watching the CO2 stream into the atmosphere.
The earth isn%26#039;t going away. We are. -
More carbon for me!
Secretly, all the armchair environmentalists want is to tell all brown people that they must stop their industrial revolutions, because we had ours first. Manifest Destiny here we come!
scary, to me. -
Very carefully and yes it will end.

I try and create as much CO2 as possible. This war is not over until We say its over.
