Is water becoming the new oil??? I was reading this article: http://www.enn.com/energy/article/37114
and I found it quite interesting. I never really realized how much of a need there is for water on a planet that IS mostly water. What%26#039;s your opinions on it?

Yes but...water is becoming less and less available, therefore raising it%26#039;s value

No. Oil is always going to be more expensive than water. We can always use desalanization plants for water which need oil as fuel.

Thats a good idea but very costly and time consuming. We could fix the world but we%26#039;re too damn cheap.

  • Just to fair not all water systems have that problem. To a large degree some of it is because of natural cycles, and not just GW. Would the same people complain if there was a flooding? It seems there always has to be a scapegoat when it comes to ideal climatic conditions. H_ll that%26#039;s what made us what we are; adaptable, versatile, and innovative.
  • DeSalting plants do not necessarily need oil for fuel. They could use sun, wind, or coal.

When oil runs out (not like now) it will be harder to replace it with biofuels, etc. Filtering (or desalting) water takes less energy to recycle.
  • the person above is rong:)
soon oil will eb goen. so water is the new fuel to be. although it has problems - runs out too quick
    - and evaporates in heat
btu it dont ruin the ozone or give off carbon dioxide.
    + it is more clean
  • You can%26#039;t %26#039;always use%26#039; desalinization plants.

They%26#039;re expensive and not cost effective.
    No bang, all buck.
