Prove Global Warming in a Lab, ideas? I have a lab that I need to create for an assignment for a college course. And I am looking for ideas on a lab that could be done using typical class items and equipment. I have access to dry ice, and some other mild chemicals. It doesnt have to be incredibly fancy but good enough for a college freshman course. I am doing a full writeup on it with the typical variables, evaulation, conclusion, hyp. etc.

Any ideas? I have about a week and a half.

What you need to do is find away to show CO2 creates an increased greenhouse effect.

Your main problem that I can see is that there is no way you can recreate earth%26#039;s atmospheric conditions in a contained biosphere. Not as a freshmen. And you%26#039;d have to have one heck of a grant to do it as a major college PHD thesis.

What the scientists are actually doing is putting all these perimeters into a computer program, but the hardest perimeter to simulate are clouds and how they effect the over all climate. I don%26#039;t even know if they put sun cycles or El Nino and El Nina cycles into there computer analysis programs. The other thing I think they%26#039;re probably starting to have trouble with is the fact that the oceans are cooling off not warming up, so how does that effect their computer models? 50% 2 Votes

  • Place some water at STP in a sealed container. Increase the temperature and measure the CO2 in the airspace (it will increase). Lower the temperature and again measure the CO2 in the airspace(it will decrease).

Result, you will have shown that CO2 is a lagging indicator not a leading indicator. 0% 0 Votes
  • Create a model of our sister planet%26#039;s atmosphere and compare it with earth%26#039;s. 25% 1 Vote
