  • Wow, I admit I was very surprised with your question.

I live in Montreal, Canada. Here (that is every where in the province of Quebec... maybe even Canada, not sure), almost every grocery store has the machine that takes in your pop cans, as well as the one for the plastic bottles. Each other them are worth $0.05 ($0.10 for beer bottles). It counts your items and gives you a receipt, which you then present at the counter for money.

When you buy a pop can, a plastic bottle of soda or even beer, you are always charged a deposit of $0.05 for it. -BY LAW. This is so that people bring them back rather than throwing them in the trash. You also have the choice to just recycle them.

(I usually just put them in the recycling. We put the recycling out at night and it%26#039;s picked up in the morning once a week. During the night, there are always people who do the recycling bags to collect those items and bring them back for money).

  • Check the Yellow Pages for recyclers. Aluminum prices seem to vary almost week by week (I recycle and the payout price is always different).

I%26#039;d also suggest that you have a lot of them before you go to a recycler. Aluminum doesn%26#039;t weigh that much in small batches and you want your recycling efforts to at least be worth it with each trip.
  • Throw them in your regular trash. It gets recycled anyway. As an avid environmentalist I know this as fact. Anti environmentalist do not want you to know this.
To the 1st answer. When you answer you need to know the education level of your audience. Most of the people here are avid environmenalist like me and you should know we have a difficult time knowing how to spell cat. How in the world do you think we would know that Stater Bros. is a supermarket which takes recyled cans?
  • what r %26quot;pop cans%26quot;??? and who cares where ya can take them there is no $$ involved in recycling. i did it for a day and the effort (glass, paper, and plastic) is dumb:):)
    ~ride on~
  • Yellow pages? I don%26#039;t think you will get money but helping environment is good so recycle them!
  • stater bros
  • Eat them.
