What%26#039;s your opinion on Global Warming? I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s happening, because how can you possibly gather an average global temperature. And did you know that we%26#039;re coming out of an ice age. They announced global warming is happening on Colorado%26#039;s coldest day in 100 years. And glaciers and iceburgs go through so many different stages. Have you recently been to Mt. Kilimajaro to see the %26quot;melting%26quot; glaciers, well I have and they%26#039;re not melting. I have so many different things to say on this but I want to see what you think.

Sun spots are cooler than the surrounding part. So what does that have anything to do with global warming. You who do believe it%26#039;s happening are giving me weather from the 1900%26#039;s but the ice age ended in 1800 so it should be warming up.

2. During the medieval warm period (820 – 1040 AD), Greenland supported farming. Those areas previously farmed are now covered in glaciers. Obviously the melting and reformation of glaciers is a cyclical occurrence.

3. The earth experienced a little ice age which ended around the late 1860%26#039;s or so. This is about the time man started recording temperatures. This would be like measuring a lake depth after a severe drought, then worrying about it flooding as it rose to normal levels.

4. The earth has been warming for the last 10,000 years, since the last major glacier time period. Also, for most of the last 1 billion years, the earth had NO glaciers or ice coverage.

5. The AGW theory states that CO2 is the primary driver of temperature. They arrived at this idea because they did not know of anything else which could cause it. But during the 70%26#039;s and during the current decade, temperatures dropped while CO2 continued to rise. This means that natural occurrences are driving temp, not CO2.

6. The Pacific Decadal Oscillation and sun spots provides a much better correlation to earths%26#039; temperature than CO2 levels ever have.

7. Polar Bears are experiencing a population boom. Coke sales in the arctics are through the roof. Polar Bears have been around for thousands of years, and remember, we are only at the average for the last 2,000 years. They lived through all the previously warmer climates.

8. The glaciers have been melting now for over 10,000 years. the current rate of melting is similar to previous melting.

9. There is no consensus on AGW. This was a lie that has been propagated by the media.

10. Yes we emit CO2 into the atmosphere and it is a greenhouse gas, but, we only contribute about .28% of all the greenhouse effect. Water vapor makes up about 95% of the greenhouse effect. CO2 and other trace gases round out the greenhouse gases at about 5% for all of them. Of that 5%, only 3% is CO2, and most of that is natural. Again, our contribution to the greenhouse effect is a paltry .28%

11. The spread of disease is not attributed mainly to temperature. If this were the case, Florida would be a giant festering disease ridden cesspool. Economic standing is the primary determining factor in the spread of disease. Poor cultures can not fight the disease or eradicate the pests like more successful nations.

12. Natural climate disasters (hurricanes, cyclones, etc) have never been scientifically linked to global warming (whether natural or man made).

wow this is really good and extremely well researched.
Everyone who backed themselves up with real evidence did an awsome job. This was hard to pick.

  • We can plot how the climate was in the past by looking at the layers of ice in the glaciers. Layers of ice that look clean show that the climate was warm; layers of ice that are dark or look dirty show that the climate was cooler. Also you can not just base whether global warming is real or not on one cold day.You can not say just Colorodo%26#039;s temperatures represent the world climate as a whole. Global warming is real and their is scientific data to prove it.
  • It is all a lie. The earth is naturally going through a cycle and this time it happens to be a warming cycle. It is not caused by us. Scientists have recently said that even if all US citizens stopped driving cars for the next fifty years, the only difference that we would make in the temperature would be 1/700th of a degree. I also saw a scientist on tv who said that scientifically speaking, as long as the north and south poles have ice, then we are in an ice age....
  • I do believe in global warming. Today, I%26#039;ve already seen people asking how we can kill the Earth practically and seeing so, it makes me sick to see that I live in a country with people like this. Animals are becoming extinct because of the heat/global warming. Polar bears and penguins are examples. And because global warming is happening, the ice is melting.
And recently, a show said that krills live under ice, so if krills die, what happens to whales? They will die to because of the krills will be gone. Some people need to understand what is happening and stop thinking about themselves.
  • It%26#039;s funny...whenever the believers see films of polar bears swimming, icebergs calving or drought somewhere, they jump up and down waving their %26#039;global warming%26#039; flags and frothing at the mouth without knowing that such things are entirely natural and predictable. I blame the educational system for not doing its part to dispell the myth of global warming. Kids in school should be taught about all the various types of scams in society, mainly this one. Or perhaps those people in charge of our schools aren%26#039;t all that bright after all.
  • Well, you%26#039;re right, we don%26#039;t have any true way to know if global warming is real or not, because you can%26#039;t gather the information. So since we can%26#039;t prove it, we should just ignore it right? No! The point is that if global warming is real, and we don%26#039;t take action, then we%26#039;re in big trouble. If it isn%26#039;t real, and we do take action, we%26#039;re not out that much.

Furthermore, the reason why it doesn%26#039;t seem to be warming is it%26#039;s not really %26quot;global warming.%26quot; It%26#039;s %26quot;global climate change%26quot; and it could be dangerous either way.
