In the past 18,000 years, since the warming cycle began, the effects have been:Glaciers have melted back by about 2,000 miles. Creatures that live along the edges of the ice pack have migrated along with it.
Oceans have risen several hundred feet. People (and woolly mammoths) could once walk from England to France on dry land. No more. Human habitations that were along shorelines are now hundreds of feet underwater.
The receding glaciers have exposed billions of acres of land for forests, farming and cities. Even Greenland once had farms on it until it got colder again about a thousand years ago.
The salinity of the oceans has decreased due to all the fresh water added by melting ice.
Carbon dioxide levels began to rise about 800 years after the warming cycle began. This is due to warming oceans releasing CO2 and as the ice retreats it thaws out the land underneath, allowing vegetation to rot. Also, increasing volcanic activity is one contributor, which increases atmospheric CO2.
Humans, along with many other creatures, have prospered. Meanwhile, many creatures that depended on certain types of habitat have gone extinct, especially some of the giant creatures that lived in North America. Those include the giant rhinoceros, the North American horse, camels, giant elk, woolly mammoths and others. There is some speculation, however, that humans migrating to this continent were the actual cause of demise, through mass hunting techniques such as setting wildfires or driving whole herds off cliffs. It was the Ice Age that allowed humans to WALK from Asia to North America.
The Earth has become more GREEN. The deadly, crushing glaciers have given way to forests and habitat for wildlife. The rising CO2 is plant fertilizer, making plants grow more quickly, making them more water-efficient and making more Oxygen for us to breathe. 40% 2 Votes

The main effect of global warming is a warming of the troposphere, which isnt happening.
The theory is warming, extreme weather blah blah blah, weve all heard it.
Fact is when it was warmer than today during the medievil optimum the weather was mild, man flourished, the sea didnt rise up and swallow the land, polar bears didnt die out, penguins at the south pole didnt die, the sea didnt turn to acid and kill all the coral reefs, incase you hadnt looked they are all still there alive and kicking. So the ACTUAL effects based on warmer periods of the past are likely to be no more than changes to current weather patterns and less people dying from the cold etc...but that doesnt grab headlines or scare people into opening their wallets 0% 0 Votes -
Some effects of global warming is that ice caps are melting and this causes the sea level to rise and this will create less land for humans. Polar bears live at the ice caps so their homes are being destroyed. This means that polar bears are dying out. Global warming is also thinning the ozone layer which causes the harmful rays of the sun to enter and effect living things on our planet. The sun rays are very dangerous and to strong for us to tolerate. It is also killing plants.

Do you mean if such a thing really existed? Unless you are mentally ill you must know that this is a hoax started by Al Gore in the early 1990%26#039;s. I can tell you the effects of this hoax. Trillions of US dollars wasted. Might as well been thrown in the recycled box. Millions of children in third world countries dying because of a lack of funds for food. Gas at $4.50 a gallon. Greedy corporations making millions of dollars selling green products. Might as well sell Hummers and call them green by painting them. This would have as much effect on the environment. Scientific reasearch not being done because money is wasted on junk science instead.

My favorite effect is...... Life. I don%26#039;t know that there are any others that even come close to being that important.
