The world%26#039;s leaders and the world%26#039;s top climate scientists are of the same opinion (http://www.ipcc.ch/)/
Personally, I find it sad that there are so many people in YA who are still in denial of basic facts but sadder still that they try to confuse and miseducate others with their comple and utter BS:
The World Meteorological Organization refutes davem%26#039;s unsubstantied claim that warming ended in 1998. 1998 was a hot year; 1999 was cooler than that - the variation between two years does not make a trend. davem%26#039;s grasp of statistics is poor to say the least.
ifoyo%26#039;s volcanoes are not responsible for ice cap melting. Even the link he provides says %26quot;The heat is isolated from the surface by layers of water%26quot;, %26quot;none of these will have any impact on the Arctic sea ice%26quot;. %26quot;The average heat added from volcanoes to the ocean is 0.1 W/sq m; the heat added from the sun and atmosphere is 100 W/sq m.%26quot; - There is no way, even if the heat did reach the ice caps that it would have a significant impact upon melting or freezing.
By the way research a polish woman named Irena. She volunteered to work as a plumbing assistant during the war at a German death camp. She snuck out babies in her lunchbox. She snuck out bigger kids in a burlap bag and trained her dog to bark at the German soldiers so they wouldn%26#039;t search her truck. She snuck 2500 kids out of that camp before being caught. The Germans broke her arms and legs and tortured her. She recovered, after the war she tried to find the kids and reunite them with their families but the Germans had gassed all their relatives.
She was nominated for the nobel peace prize and she lost. It was given to Al Gore for doing a slide show on global warming.
Irena died a few days ago from pneumonia at the age of 93.
I hope Mr. Gore is proud.
Developing cleaner ways to produce electricity is not going to hurt a thing, if it doe’s nothing but make the air we breathe cleaner it works for me.
Developing alternative fuels to power our transportation needs , again won’t hurt a thing, reduce the demand for oil you reduce the price we pay for it, I think everyone can say “that works for me” to this.
In our everyday life one of best ways to help focus your mind set in the right direction is to say to yourself each morning, “Today I will do no harm to the earth” I do this it works, I find myself doing little things that in the long run enriches my life, again it don’t hurt a thing.
I could go on about this all day but I won’t. I’m a global warming advocate but, not because of some unfounded fear of Doomsday but (as you may have guessed by now) because it won’t hurt a thing to help our earth recover from years of industrial plunder.
The earth has been going thru heating and cooling swings for thousands of years. Ice melts then freezes back. Those making the most racket about this have something to gain somewhere $$$$$
The political correct question is %26quot;Is man causing it?%26quot;
On the grand scale of things, I think it%26#039;s egotistical for us to think we have more control over the environment than mother nature.
