Still happening. Huge one over [Antartica?] I think. Caused by some reaction between elements that cause the compounds in the ozone layer to change. I forget the exact process, but that%26#039;s the basic concept. Be afraid. Very afraid.
[Edit]: Yes, there is a very large one over Antarctica that has spread to the southern parts of Australia and New Zealand.
Results in increased UV radiation causing an increase in Malignant Melanoma (Skin Cancer) and Cataracts (Eye Problems).
