• Still happening. Huge one over [Antartica?] I think. Caused by some reaction between elements that cause the compounds in the ozone layer to change. I forget the exact process, but that%26#039;s the basic concept. Be afraid. Very afraid.
  [Edit]: Yes, there is a very large one over Antarctica that has spread to the southern parts of Australia and New Zealand.
