But there are also more trees than there should be nautrally!
Forests today have 3-6 times as many trees per square mile as they did 200 years ago!
Hundreds of years ago, forests averaged about 90 trees per acre, but modern forests average about 300 trees or more per acre!
Shouldn%26#039;t that absorb some ammount of excess carbon dioxide? Or am I over-estimating a trees absorbing power?
(the funny thing is, when a tree dies, the carbon just gets released again, it%26#039;s inevetiable! haha!)
Hard to imaginae how such a tiny influence as humanity could ever effect the climate.
Natural processes are one thing but adding to that in high volumns as humans do, becomes a dangerous sinario. We only have one place in the universe to live ... until we find another, (for your sake) we need to be careful, or we all die.
In fact I live in a state in which most of it was forest before western culture moved it. Now most of it is housing divisions highways, car dealerships, and strip malls.
It doesn%26#039;t take a brain scientist or in this case a climatologist to tell you we are screwing up the earth. Just look around you and notice all the building and encroachment we have be doing. In my lifetime I have seen vast amounts of land developed and for what, another housing division, another blockbusters or fast food joint, or another Walmart to use up more of the world%26#039;s already scarce resources. What we are doing to the environment is an absolute crime one in which we will all pay dearly for if we do not change our tune and pronto.
“Know this, those that ravage the earth, Tell your own what we have told our own. The earth is your mother, pray don%26#039;t forget; What will befall the earth, befalls her children too; When she falls ill, her children starve. Like brothers of the blood, all things are one, When the blood of the fox falls on the soil, Less blood flows in your veins, for all is one; We do not own the earth, the earth owns us. Those who spit on the ground, spit on themselves. Did you forget, the earth is your mother? What will befall the earth, befalls her children too. We did not weave the web of life, We are its threads, no more. When we destroy the web, we too must die.” ~Chief Seattle~
