Why do people belive in global warming? I live up north and our river flooded because there was an ice flow blocking the river, the first one in about 100 years. Incidents like these make all those global warming people look like fruitcakes. But if it does exist can you send me some because it%26#039;s really cold up here?

Thank you everyone for your answers. As a scientist let me briefly say that climate change is a natural occurance on the planet. The very changes are necessary for life to exist. And life itself changes the world to meet its needs, it%26#039;s all part of the cycle of life. If people stopped to understand the scientific facts and not the theories then they would understand the theory of global warming does not stand up to proven facts.

That said envionmentalism is important. Many pollutants are health hazards and pose public health risks. If enviromentalists worked to reduce pollution through health topics they would find much less resistance than concoct theories.
