Why do people think global warming is a scam? I always hear people saying that the government created global warming to scare people or that it is a scam.When in actuality its happening right now...We are actually going through the first stages of global warming..Our planet is going to shift dramaticly,and people think its a scam.I was just wondering if people think that because people are causing it..or if blaming government is just an excuse to not believe it.

The ice caps are melting all over the world has already started expeirencing dramatic weather/temperature change,and several species of ocean life are already becoming extinct.All of the signs of global warning are everywhere...Can someone give me a good explanation of why its a scam?

let me make it very clear to everyone that i do not support al gore and his documentary was a joke! Ive watched documentaries made by actual scientists. al gore is an idiot trying to get more publicity..I posted this question becouse ive studied global warming and the effect its having on the earth but ive also studied natural climate change..i was just a little torn between the 2 and wanted some opinions of other people who have researched the topic..and i am NOT in a cult..i just happend to be concerned about the planet concidering I do have to live on it.

i love all of the diferant answers ive got for this question..it seems the globoing warming topic is very controversial..every answer is differant and makes a good point in a way..a couple are a little cooky,but still apreciated.

What makes you think warming is necessarily bad. In my opinion, you probably believe so because you have heard so many people suggesting that. Alarmist never will provide an honest estimate of the benefits of warming. Think about it before you go with the crowd. Warming is generally beneficial. Cooling is catastrophic. That being said, the science involved in climate change is in its infancy. Those that pretend to be able to predict the future, can%26#039;t. Those that pretend that climates are stable are ignorant. Those that try to scare people to push a political agenda are dispicable. geologist and environmental consultant.

• hey, global warming is 1 of my favorite subjects. they have provent that this time it is not nature, and some1 guy just got the nobel prize for proving that it is actually happening as we speak. I have to say that people are scared to believe something this big. Human beeings have an unspeakable negative effect on the planet but no1 choses to believe it. Govenment? i think most of us are just really unhappy with it, and that is something you can blame on the government. Our kids will experience all of the negative effects we are creating... so really it is any1%26#039;s opinion
• There is a lack of understanding of it not enough of the information is put right in view. To convince people all the city buses would require information on Global Warming in place of adds. There would have to be information on the doors of taxicabs, pinned to the doors of colleges, outside and inside The White House, on the poles of crosswalk lights, information about it on Barrels of oil shipped from The Middle East. usual

  Government always has some kind of new scare. Look at history!
• Ever heard of the Salem Witch trials, or the inquisition. There have been many movements in the past where people have been prosecuted just because they believed in demons.
  
  So called global warming experts and cult followers are those people who believe in demons. The demons emanate from the modern industrialized world, who are seen to be the destroyers of Mother Earth.
  
  We can’t accurately measure the amounts of CO2 or the percentage of warming due to man in any scientific method. There are just to many variables. No computer model to date will accurately map the amount of water in the air due to evaporation and rain fall.

• Hey great last name, I%26#039;m a Hall too. The reason some people are skeptical on the issue is that the scientific community can%26#039;t even agree. The earth has gone through many climate changes over the centuries (the Sahara Desert was once an Ocean) but just how much of the present climate change is do to man%26#039;s mistakes or are naturally occurring is the question that really hasn%26#039;t been answered yet.
