Depends what you mean by the end of the world. First of all I want to say that there is no scientific debate about whether we are contributing to global warming. It is the consensus of the worlds scientists. Period. There have been over 940 peer reviewed science research papers saying that this is true. There have been ZERO such papers indicating the opposite. There is a very simple reason for this. A peer reviewed science research paper is one that has withstood the scrutiny of the worlds scientists to determine if it is good science. The oil companies and those whose self interest is to disprove the global warming conclusions have billions of dollars they could throw at such scientific research. Yet not one such peer reviewed paper has been published because it is nonsense that won%26#039;t withstand the scrutiny of the world%26#039;s scientists.
If that isn%26#039;t enough to convince you, I don%26#039;t know what will.
Will it end the world. Well the world as we know it -Yes. We are systematically destroying every ecosystem on earth, whether through global warming or just plain pollution and loss of habitat.
Much of this is due to the effects of fossil fuel burning and irresponsible use of chemicals made from fossil fuels.
Species are already going extinct at a rate 1000 times the background rate over hundreds of millions of years. Man and his actions is undeniably causing this. It coincides perfectly with the industrial revolution of the past 150 years or so.
We are inseparably part of the ecosystems we are destroying. We cannot survive as a species separate from the whole. This is obvious to any thinking person. We can reverse the trend. There is hope. We must change now. There is no time left to waffle on these issues.
There%26#039;s an old aphorism that says %26quot;after man the desert%26quot; It is entirely possible for man destroy most of life on this planet. We are well along this road, but can still turn the bus around.
Everything is One all is interconnected. This is the truth that wise men have been telling us for thousands of years and which quantum physics confirms without a doubt. The experience of being one with all is the central spiritual experience of every path to enlightenment there has ever been. Therein lies the solution to our dilemna. What the world needs more than anything else is higher consciousness. In fact the environmental movement became what it is as a result of hightened awareness . All spiritually aware people know what we are doing to the planet. Without exception! Most of our problems would solve themselves if we were all aware in this way. The problems arise largely because we have an incorrect notion of reality and the universe. I suggest reading the books by Fred Alan Wolf Phd. He writes about quantum physics, consciousness and the nature of reality. Fascinating books like %26quot;The Spiritual Universe%26quot; and %26quot;Taking the Quantum Leap%26quot;. This might give you some idea of what I am talking about. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Those who have awakened to this reality have no doubts whatsoever about what we are doing to our planet. I also recommend the books called %26quot;Conversations With God%26quot; by Neale Donald Walsch. Fundamentalists won%26#039;t like it but those with a more open mind will find them both inspiring and liberating. The ideas presented in those books are consistant with what all aware people know. 40% 2 Votes

Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live 100% off of the grid and are completely self-sufficient with a 0% Carbon footprint. I believe this is the first step anyone can make “help the environment”. Once you convert your own life style to a greener more eco friendly route, you can start helping others.

We definitely didn%26#039;t start global warming, but we definitely do contribute to it now.

Natural gas (or Methane along with other thanes) for example, is completely a natural contributer to global warming and is derived pretty much the same way as oil. ie. Matter (animal, plant etc) decomposes over time resulting in a anaerobic (hope I spelled that right) decay of non-fossil organic material / gas (natural gas or methane).

One problem with global warming is that the concept is so vague in the minds of the people. The critical interpretation is basically how it’s explained in school and the news. However most of the public see global warming connected with the ozone and pollutants which cause harmful greenhouse gasses, etc. therefore investigating and fighting for things like alternative energy (ie. Solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel, etc)
