Gas prices. At $5 a gallon,(it will be soon) America won%26#039;t last long enough to be green. Environmentalists are in general too narrow minded to see this.
All prices of consumer goods are based on fuel prices. If it%26#039;s grown, manufactured, or transported to market, it more than likely took fuel to make it, and definately took fuel to get it there. Look out inflation... here comes 1929 again!

  We know that when the prices start to rise demand will fall, but not right away, because it lags behind the market some. As prices go down demand will go up but not right away, because the market is not as responsive as price.
  
  People%26#039;s habits are slow to change, even when driving factors like price force it to, but this takes some time.
  
  So in increasing the gas prices, people will not automatically drive less.
  
  Economically speaking this is fruitless in changing people habits, but environmentally speaking .. I think that global warming is but a joke.
• If you believe in global warming, which I do not(under the current pop culture definition), and, I suspect, that you believe in gasoline, one has the ability to effect both. But we don%26#039;t. We wrap ourselves in ipods, iphones, cellphones, blackberries, laptops and countless other electrical products that require batteries. Batteries that need to be recharged. The majority of that power coming from coal powered plants. Then we get in our H3, Expedition, Suburban, Jeep or some other fuel inefficient vehicles, and go play with our boat, jet ski, waverunner, fourwheeler...etc. We live in houses and apartments that are far beyond the size we need (unless your in NYC. no apartment is big enough) and complain loudly about the environment and the price of fuel. But i%26#039;m just preaching now. How about reducing global prices?
