Are plastic bottle caps recyclable?? Every time we put something in the recycle bin at our home my mom makes us take off the plastic caps to everything (ex pop bottles, orange juice cartons, milk jugs etc...)

can%26#039;t you just throw the whole thing in or is there something in the caps that cannot be recycled??

They are often not the same as the bottle but they can be recycled.

I hate plastic. The miles-wide island of plastic floating in the pacific is made mostly of plastic bottle tops and plastic pellets. They kill sea birds who pick the up thinking they%26#039;re food.
It%26#039;s time to go back to glass. The chemical bonds of Glass don%26#039;t deteriorate when it is recycled so it can be recycled again and again. Plastic has become a nuisance. 50% 2 Votes

• they ask you to take off the caps because when the machine crushes the bottles they can explode from the pressure the caps will fly off and possibly injure someone but yes throw them in the bin with..the plastic from them is recyclable 25% 1 Vote
• Yes you can Recycle them. Just open the bottle, jug, box... what ever, crush it and put the cap back on, Then Recycle it.
