I have no car, I recycle every thing I can in my locale, and I use miscellaneous pretty bits of trash for art projects. I am working on a second-hand book art project. I mostly only buy used and remaindered books, unless I know the person who wrote them. I use unmatched socks as dustcloths and old underwear as rags. i make things out of old jeans, and worked out a nightshirt design from 2 tshirts. There is a place nearby to take fabric scraps, old picture frames with no glass, and cd boxes for artists to use, and I go there when I have some stuff saved up. I give away clothes that are still in good shape if I think I won%26#039;t wear them any more. When I%26#039;m waiting for water to get hot I run it into a bucket and use it to flush the toilet. I compost all non-meat food scraps. I was buying pine-based cat litter to compost it, but because of possible health issues that I didn%26#039;t know about before, I have switched to newspapers, putting the used ones in a paper bag in the regular trash, as I believe they will turn back into dirt faster than in plastic. I know of a battered woman%26#039;s shelter and a thrift store that helps people with medical expenses to give household goods to.So what%26#039;s your story?

I%26#039;m a college student. I walk everywhere, live and share everything with other people, started a recycling program on my entire floor, and I pull recycleable items out of our trash cans when i see them. My meals are from the cafeteria, which is bought in bulk which reduces energy used for shipping and waste. I use water bottles, and I turn off appliances when they%26#039;re not in use. I%26#039;m an environmental science major, so I%26#039;ve kind of dedicated my life to this kind of stuff
