Seen a very BIG one here, but wasn%26#039;t battery driven, used human power. forget what they call them, but it consists of a large 1m x width of room blade hung from the ceiling and a linking mechanism on the side. Some poor bugger, stands there pulling a rope which swings the blade back and forth. Works a treat! Silent (well very quiet), slow moving air, ventilates the whole room evenly without causing a disturbance. Seen modern versions as well with the person replaced with a geared small electric motor. But the human powered one is better for the environment and creates employment opportunities. I understand they were quite popular in India under the British colonial rule.

Go to an outdoor equipment store, and you can find a limited variety in most. Also batteries produce electricity anyway, but they do it with toxic chemicals. Thus battery powered devices are typically worse for the environment.

I wouldn%26#039;t bother. It takes more energy to charge a battery than the energy it would take to run a fan directly so unless You are going to charge them from solar power etc. your%26#039;e not going to save energy.

There are not any big battery operated fans out there trust me I have looked but the eletcric ones don%26#039;t use up alot of wattage so it really wouldn%26#039;t matter you would probably waste more money on batteries that electricity.

You will be unlikely to find one.
The power needed to operate one that size would be too expensive to run on batteries. -
Battery operated fans don%26#039;t realy come in munch bigger size then you found (even though it would be a smart move).
