I wouldn%26#039;t think of it a business really, im just hoping it wouldn%26#039;t cost too much to get going. Also does anyone know of any figures relating to the impact of common household batteries%26#039; effects on the environment/pollution?* You must be logged into Answers to add comments. First I%26#039;d check your nearest junkyard. They may offer you $ for car batteries if you are thinking that big ,but might also give you some insight into recycling alkaline ,general purpose, and lithium cells. I%26#039;d also check out the Call 2 Recycle people http://www.rbrc.org/call2recycle/index.h...
they offer a FREE service and are used by RadioShack,Best Buy,Circuit City,Lowes and other retailers (but don%26#039;t take non-rechargeables) http://www.rbrc.org/call2recycle/index.h...

Call your local recycling center and ask questions.

Just across the st. mary%26#039;s / charles co. line, on La Plata Rd. is a scraping center one mile on the left. They used to give about $5 per car battery.
