Can i decorate a beehive box? I recently made a beehive box, Ive heard of painting it plain white but i was wondering if it is advisable to decorate it with paintings of flowers/bright colored splotches to sort of make it more %26quot;homey%26quot; for the bees. I know this seems silly but my daughter has been asking to paint it and i wasn%26#039;t sure if it was going to throw off the bees or something... please help and only give answers if you know something about bee keeping.

I just attended a program about beekeeping and no mention was made whatsoever as to color. The painting may confuse the bees somewhat but I don%26#039;t think it would be a problem. I%26#039;ve got brightly covered wall hangings by where the bees are camped out in my yard, and they don%26#039;t seem to pay them any attention at all. Bee lecture last week

  • Yes! You can paint little flowers, or honey jars, sugar bags, and stuff on the outside. Try getting a fake flower (from an art store) and glue it to the beehive box it%26#039;ll look so cute! 0% 0 Votes
