Education hurting the environment? Every day the public schools system pollutes the atmosphere by driving millions of buses around dropping kids off in a school that uses lord knows how much energy for heating and cooling. Not to mention all of the teachers driving there. These people arent GOING GREEN!!!!!!

We need to be more eco-friendly. We need to stop educating our children so they can enjoy the world pollution free. I%26#039;d say thats a fair trade. Current estimates show that the world will be unlivable in as little as 5 to 6 years.

  • it seems that the method of all going to one place in eco-unfriendly vehicles is a bad idea why not force people to work only in the local area and the say they have to ride a bike or walk to get to school or work or somesuch thing besides would we really need 13 years of education or is that just the govenment want to empress everyone 0% 0 Votes
  • Yes lets all go live in trees while we are at it lol. Give away our computers too, since they are so polluting as well. No more cable TV, etc too. Sound tempting?

    Didnt think so ;) 0% 0 Votes
  • Education does not need to transport children long distances. We could be using internet technology to deliver education at home. Or 6 days at home to one day at school for the kids.

But I don%26#039;t think that abandonment of education per se offers much of an improvement. 25% 1 Vote
  • Even though I enjoyed school, when I was a student, I would have loved your arguments.

In addition to using up energy and polluting, education teaches children more efficient ways of doing things. They go on to invent more products which take more energy, cause more driving to work, tie up resources, and cause people to want to work at something that produces paperwork rather than a product.

Without education and leisure time, more of us would be willing to engage in subsistence farming, growing what we need and trading our produce for something we can%26#039;t make ourselves.

Keep up the good work. I do think your mention of the world becoming unlivable in as little as 5 to 6 years is a little pessimistic. 0% 0 Votes
  • What are you smoking
The only hope for humanity is to educate ourselves to be more efficient and possibly emigrate to other solar systems 0% 0 Votes

  • this is a dangerous idea because if children don%26#039;t receive forced political indoctrination in a controlled environment they might start thinking for themselves.
this would not be beneficial to the permanent bureaucracy now in place.
the warehousing, transportation %26amp; political indoctrination of children is about the only industry left in the U.S. what would all the people currently employed by this system do for a living? their certainly not qualified to perform any usefull function.

I have heard its still possible to get an actual education in other countrys where the hippies were less successful. 25% 1 Vote
  • As horrible as most school systems are, the kids would probably learn more by staying home and watching Sesame Street! 0% 0 Votes
