Energy saving? My Doris has put a thermos flask by the kettle? and instructed me to pour excess boiled water into it after making her tea. My Doris does get some good ideas-she actually read it in The Daily Mail but I won%26#039;t let on I know!

Most electric kettles here in England have a minimum level which is way above the one large cup of tea I make. Hence there is always spare hot water

  i think its a great way to save energy.
• I guess it helps some. Have you tried boiling less water so you eliminate the excess?
• At the cabin, we put a tea kettle on the stove (fireplace) to boil and drink. It is also good because the fireplace smoke dries out the air and the kettle adds moisture.
• Good old Doris. I suspect she is your very special lady. Cherish her now!!
