Environmental Pollution Experiment Ideas...?
In ecology class we have the oppurtunity to perform an experiment in which we analyze the school%26#039;s effect on the environment. Out back we have a half retention, half clean pond with a concrete divider in it, lots of grass, trees, plant life... and other water sources and such nearby.... I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for experiments to test how much we are polluting the surrounding area. At the minute i%26#039;m playing around with the idea for testing different samples of the water for nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, pH, and such... and comparing the results but other than that i%26#039;m stuck. Any help/brainstorming would be much appreciated!

How about comparing how a plant grows at the school and in a forest-type environment?

Before I read your %26quot;details%26quot; section, I was thinking that you should check the PH levels and such. Decomposition tests of tissues in soil samples is nice too.
